In the recent version we already had diversification, fundamentals and progress available in the strategy and related health-check. However, A portfolio can match your target allocation to the percentage point and still be wrong for you — e.g. too little income growth or too high risk of drawdown. That is why the strategy and health-check now covers two more categories: dividends and volatility.
Dividends: is your income actually on plan?
Set a target for the income side of your portfolio, and the health check measures your holdings against it:
- Portfolio payout measures yield and growth against your target.
- Growth per share measures organic growth of your holdings and highlights those that start to deviate from your strategy.
- Risk — often overlooked, this helps you to identify if payout sustainability of a company is at risk or if you have unhealthy concentration on single companies.
If you are investing toward financial independence, these aspects eventually matters more than total return: not how big the portfolio is, but what it pays out and will pay out in the future.
Volatility: is the ride wilder than you like?
With the second new category you monitor and limit the movement of your portfolio. Know how much movement your portfolio actually carries:
- Portfolio swing measures the movement of your portfolio in comparison to the market average.
- Single holdings swing allows you to detect high risk positions.
- Trend warning when your portfolio quietly gets wilder — an early warning signal.
Don’t get surprised by movements and limit your drawdown risk.
How it fits the existing check
Nothing about your current setup changes. The new categories sit alongside the allocation targets you already have, in the same health check: each category gets its own target, its own status, and its own drift indication, and the overall health score takes all of them into account.

Open Plan > Strategy in the app, add a dividend and a volatility target, and run the health check.
